Social Construction of Reality
Is how human’s evolved in physical and social environments and how they communicate in the world around them. It also deals with the mental aspect of perceiving and reasoning. Plato wrote on the theory in “Allegory of the Cave.”

Linguistic Relativity
Plato established this theory long ago and it’s still used in today’s society. Linguistic relativity deals with people with different cultures and backgrounds and the growth of societies. Some societies choose to keep adapting and moving up with technology much so like America, but in some cultures they choose to keep their original ideas and works.

Exchange Theory
George Homans developed the exchange theory to explain all forms of social interaction. Theorists claim that people gain reward from interacting with a certain type of person.

Coordinated Management of Meaning
Started by Barnett Pearce and Vernon Cronen, the theory says that verbal information in our conversation with another person creates our own social environments, which may be perceived as reality.

Groupthink
Groupthink was identified by Irving Janis, which says members of a group reach an agreement when one member of the group emerges as the dominant view. It considered a disservice by the group members because there not actually putting out their real emotions and thoughts.

Labeling Theory
Founded by Howard Becker, which consist of labeling a person by his actions? It most cases people are labeled by their deviant acts. Labeling theory relates to all labels that are portrayed on people or groups.

Implicit Personality Theory
Created by Solomon Asch is the assumption or expectation we build about a person when we find a quality in their central trait.

System Theory
Started by Ludwig von Bertalanffy states that groups are open systems that are influenced by openness to environment an interdependence inputs process variables and outputs.

Media Richness Theory
Developed by Daft and Lengel, how develop the richness of a message through media communication.
